Advancing Children’s Rights

Every child has inalienable rights.

Arigatou International’s work is guided by the principles of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, which inspire and inform its four global initiatives: the Global Network of Religions for Children (GNRC), Ethics Education for Children, Prayer and Action for Children, and End Child Poverty. At Arigatou, we believe in the old African adage, it takes a village to raise a child. In today’s rapidly changing and completely interconnected world, however, we acknowledge that it takes a whole world to raise a child — a world where every person, family, organization, government, and religious group is committed to ensuring that no child is ever denied his or her basic human rights. We are doing everything we can to inspire this kind of “All for Children” world.

Faith and Children’s Rights:
A Multi-Religious Study on the Convention on the Rights of the Child

To mark the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the Convention on the Rights of the Child, and in partnership with UNICEF, Arigatou International has developed Faith and Children’s Rights: A Multi-religious Study on the Convention on the Rights of the Child.

This study examines the Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) from the perspective of seven major religions, identifies the important role played by religious communities in advancing the rights and well-being of children over the past 30 years, seeks to identify the common values shared among different religions and the CRC and promotes continued action by religious communities to further implement the CRC in the future.
