On January 4th, 2023, GNRC India held the 15th annual edition of the ‘Journey for Unity’, the first public interfaith outreach for 2023, as part of the Coimbatore Vizha. The interfaith-intergenerational journey celebrates the cultural and religious diversity of the city of Coimbatore.
Present at the event were 213 adults, with religious leaders from the Hindu, Christian, Islamic, Jain & Sikh, and 124 children from twenty-six schools. Those present came together at the newly dedicated Mahatma Gandhi Memorial at Pothanur for a special interfaith prayer for peace led by the different religious leaders. The children then shared their experiences.
Civil Society Leaders present reiterated the commitment to unity in diversity, led by Dr.B.K.Krishnaraj Vanavarayar.
