The session will explore the issue of radicalization and violent extremism in the Horn of Africa context, based on real testimonies while showcasing practical strategies to address it, carried out by members of the Global Network of Religions for Children (GNRC), and backed by expert’s knowledge.
The overall objective is to deepen our understanding of radicalization and extremism and to provide practical solutions to it.
The current situation of the COVID-19 pandemic has forced children to remain at home, many of whom lack proper supervision, leaving them exposed to recruiters, including online radicalization.
The focus of discussion fits within GNRC’s broad goal of ending violent extremism in the wider framework of ending violence against children.
