As part of the network’s effort to respond to COVID-19, GNRC member in Comoros, Conseil de la Paix (CAP) led by the Coordinator Mr. Akim Said M’changama, distributed face masks and sanitary kits to students and teachers in schools over the course of July 2020. This is after the government of Comoros reopened the schools in the country.
The Network similarly sensitized children and teachers in learning institutions on how to stay safe during the pandemic. Through the help of Ustadh Safari Mohamed, Conseil de la Paix has currently reached out to students from Sheikh Soilih Madrasa. They are also looking to engage more secular and faith based schools.
The initiative was in partnership with the youth network of Conseil de la Paix, Association pour les Enfants Démunis (the Association for Deprived/Vulnerable Children). Conseil de la Paix intends to continue with the sensitization program for the next three months.
