2015年国際平和デーメッセージ

本日国際平和デーに際し、現在の困難な時代において平和を切望する世界中の人々に声を大にして言わせていただきたい。現在暴力に直面しているすべての人々に感謝と敬意を払い、平和の切望を声高に訴え、平和が現実のものとになるように粛々と尽力していくことを。また、現在紛争に巻き込まれている人々が休戦あるいは非暴力の今日という日を祝うようお願い申し上げます。あらためて、ここに真に永続する平和の構築に役立てるよう全力を尽くすことに専念いたします。 2015年国際平和デーの「平和ための協力―万人に対する尊厳」というテーマは、ありがとうインターナショナルにおいて私たちに力強い共鳴を覚えさせます。協力して尊厳を回復する、特に子どもたちのためにそれを回復することは、わたしたちのすべてのプログラムの核心です。つまり、「平和」は他者と関わりあう現象であり、協力の一形式なのです。これは人間関係において起こりうるだけです。人と人 ―相違や不一致が存在しても、お互いに尊厳を以て受け止めあう人同士― がいなければ成立しないのです。 このようにして私たちは、従事する作業において非常に多種多様な宗教や人種や文化や経済的背景を持つ人々を団結するように努力しているのです。パートナーが多種多様であればあるほど、平和構築の可能性は大きくなっていきます。子供に焦点を当てることにより、私たちは通常では越えられない境界を越えて通じ合えるよう促進できるのです。子供たちが安全で健やかに成長するに値し、人間としての全能力を実現する機会を持つことに異論を唱える人はいないはずです。分かっていることは、この考え方に動機づけられる協力は大きな変革の可能性を持っています。これにより子どもたちに迫る状況も変わるだけでなく、私たちと関係者も変わるのです。私たちが一緒に働く方皆に感謝を以て、私たちが平和構築の作業を共に実践していけることを期待します。これが私たちの言う「子どもたちへの全面支持(All for Children)」です。 平和とは心を温かくする愛情のこもったスープであり、それを作るにはたくさんのパートナーからたくさんの材料を必要とします。ありがとうインターナショナルでは、特に子どもたちの成長に必要な材料を加えられるよう努力しています。平和構築の材料は、諸宗教間の協力であったり、倫理教育であったり、暴力の阻止であったり、貧困の撲滅などです。この多様な世界においてあらゆる相違を超えて子どもと一緒に、また子どものために取り組むことは、平和への最も重要な方向性であると確信しています。この点を鑑みまして、皆さんと社会が今日とても平和な一日であることを願い、私たちの一人ひとりが日々平和が構築されていくことに絶えず関与していくことを願います。

2015年「貧困撲滅のための国際デー」へのメッセージ ありがとうインターナショナル総裁 宮本惠司師

先月、国際平和デーに当たって、子どもが安心して元気に育てられる世界を作ることの大切さについて書きました。しかし、戦争と武力紛争は、子どもの貴重な命を破壊する暴力の形の一つに過ぎません。  実際に、戦争より貧困のほうが暴力的であるとさえ言えます。多くの人の命を奪う一方、生き残りがとても苦労します。今、約10億人の子どもが貧困で暮らしています。この数字が何を意味するか想像しにくいでしょう。  簡単にいえば、二人の子どもに一人だということです。同じ家族で想像してみてください:一人は十分に食べて、服を着て、接種を受けており、元気で定期的に健康診断を受けて、いい学校に通っています。もう一人は、栄養不足で、やせ衰えており、靴も履かず、予防可能な病気に悩まされて、医者にも行けず、学校に通う代わりに働いています。なんてばかげた家族でしょう。親の理性すら疑ってしまいそうです。しかし、これこそ私たちの世界にいる子どもの現実であり、私たち皆その親です。 今年の「貧困撲滅のための国際デー」は、国連が2030年までの持続可能開発アジェンダを採択した直後で、最初の目標は「どこでもありとあらゆる形の貧困をなくす」であるという特別な機会に訪れています。私の考えでは、倫理上も実利的にも最優先に取り掛からないといけない貧困の形は子どもの貧困です。まず、最も貧困に苦しまされ、最も自分の力だけで抵抗できない者、つまり子どもを道徳上に助ける義務があります。そして、実利的に言えば、長期に貧困をなくすための最短の道は、代々の貧困という悪循環から脱せるような構成を立て、家族に力を与えることによって、今の子どもから始めることです。多くの複雑な要素があると分かります、貧困を原因で子どもが亡くなる地域が戦争まみれになっていることはその一つの大きなものですが、貧困に取り組む際に子どもを第一に考えることがマイナスになるとは到底思えません。子どもを第一にする考え方で、貧困の経済的・構造的な原因だけではなく、人間の心の中にある貧困の根本的な原因にも取り組めるようになると思います。にいえば、二人の子どもに一人だということです。同じ家族で想像してみてください:一人は十分に食べて、服を着て、接種を受けており、元気で定期的に健康診断を受けて、いい学校に通っています。もう一人は、栄養不足で、やせ衰えており、靴も履かず、予防可能な病気に悩まされて、医者にも行けず、学校に通う代わりに働いています。なんてばかげた家族でしょう。親の理性すら疑ってしまいそうです。しかし、これこそ私たちの世界にいる子どもの現実であり、私たち皆その親です。 これこそ「子どもの貧困をなくすためのイニシアチブ」を支える確信で、この世界規模のイニシアチブは諸宗教で、子どもを中心にし、子どもの貧困をなくすために宗教に基づいた資源を動員するものです。神学的考察、祈りと行動、諸宗教アドボカシーとパートナーシップや草の根活動への支援を通じて、精神的・構造的原因に取り組んで、子どもの貧困のない世界づくりを目指しています。 国際社会が貧困の撲滅を進めようとしている際、宗教者が子どもを守るという世界の道徳的な焦点を保って、子ども一人ひとりが安心して成長できるために宗教者に特別な役割があると認めて、これを果たせるように呼びかけるよう、この機会を利用したいと思います。子どもの貧困をなくすことは、私たちの聖典や教えや伝統にすでにあるよう、私たちの最優先事項にしようではないか。これを私たちの共同体においてすでに認識され、私たちの仲間が慈悲のある心、行動を起こす心を持つように導き、持続可能開発アジェンダの素晴らしい第一目標を実現できるようすべての資源を充てるようにしようではないか。実現した時に、いかに喜べるでしょうか。 今は、祝う時であり、希望にあふれる時です。今年の貧困撲滅のための国際デーに当たって、ミレニアム開発目標のもとで、6千万人の子どもが貧困から救われ、一部の推測では毎日14,000人の子どもが命を落とさないようになり、貧困問題で大きな進歩があったことを思い出そうとしましょう。共通の目標に向かって一緒に仕事をすれば、大きな進歩が遂げると立証されています。今は、気を落とす時ではなくて、子ども一人ひとりが貧困のない、希望にあふれる、満足のできる人生が送れるよう努力を倍にしようではないか。 宮本惠司2015年10月17日

2002年5月の「国連子ども特別総会」で発表した「倫理教育委員会」は、2004年5月のGNRC第2回フォーラムで設置され、最初に諸宗教の倫理教育を行うための具体的なリソースの開発に取り組みました。その結果、「共に生きることを学ぶ:倫理教育のための異文化間・諸宗教プログラム」は、ユネスコとユニセフとの協力のもと、世界中のさまざま実施試験を経て開発されました。「共に生きることを学ぶ」は、子どもや若者により強い倫理観を身につけてもらうための新しい諸宗教と異文化間の学習プロセスを用いたツールで世界の教育者と青年指導者を対象とします。
